This contest provides a unique opportunity for students from business schools to share their ideas with the leaders of some of the top notch companies.
About GSIA:
This award is the culmination of recent developments in the field of Global Sourcing, which encompasses trends like ‘off-shoring’ and ‘outsourcing’, that have changed the face of many businesses over the past decade. More and more companies, be it multinationals or SME’s, have recognised the necessity of implementing these processes, resulting in activities moving up the value chain.
To begin with, outsourcing and off-shoring involved mostly low-skilled labour, however, today it also involves high skilled functions related to innovative core-activities of the company.
Companies, both large and small, from all parts of the world are increasingly recognizing and reaping the benefits of outsourcing work abroad either via a third party or under direct control. Whilst faced with challenges in maintaining and enhancing innovations in partnerships with third parties, Global Sourcing and Innovation will remain strategic priorities, ensuring corporations operating internationally do not lose their competitive advantage.
